The third track from William Michael Morgan’s second EP is a smooth, feel-good romantic song that should appeal even to listeners who are not normally drawn to real country music.

“In Walked You” opens with a calm, polished country sound that immediately welcomes the listener in. The melody is easy on the ears, the steel guitar adds just the right country touch, and William Michael Morgan’s relaxed vocal delivery keeps everything flowing with natural charm.

There is no heartbreak, no barroom misery, and no desperate regret here. Instead, William Michael Morgan delivers a warmhearted song that simply feels good from beginning to end.

“In Walked You” may not be the twangiest song Essie Country has ever featured, but it is exactly the kind of contemporary traditional-leaning country music that should have been welcomed by mainstream country radio if country radio cared about actual country texture.
