by Jake Worthington
Released April 7, 2023

This week’s Essie Country Song of the Week wasn’t even in the “on deck” folder waiting to be selected. But when I first heard the song, I knew it was the perfect choice to follow last week’s lost-love Song of the Week.

With the steady beat of the drums and the welcome sound of steel guitar throughout, Jake Worthington delivers a well-crafted love song in true traditional country style.

It only took one listen to this foot-tapping, rhythmic country tune for me to know it was a perfect choice for Essie Country’s Song of the Week. Jake co-wrote the song, and both his writing and performance leave no doubt that he is a real country artist.

“I Ain’t Goin’ Anywhere” is one of thirteen true country songs on his self-titled album, Jake Worthington. If you crave real country music—the way it used to sound—I encourage you to check out the album. You won’t be disappointed.

Just to note, Essie Country “ain’t goin’ anywhere” until the country music genre is dominated by true country music and artists like Jake are the ones climbing the charts—not fake country music.

So don’t go anywhere until you click on the link below and give a listen to Jake performing “I Ain’t Goin’ Anywhere.”
